Vermont

Lakes, waterfalls, covered bridges, and lots of swimming
MODERATE BIKING      12 and 16 DAYS
Trip #VER

Find out why people come from around the world to bike in Vermont.

Wet in the Wilderness of Vermont...yes, WET! Vermont Bike Adventure combines picturesque New England beauty with the summertime fun of swimming. In Vermont, you have the opportunity to swim almost every day; it might be in a clear mountain lake, lazy farm pond, rushing waterfall, gurgling forest brook or from a swing below a covered bridge.

The biking is awesome in Vermont! It's Vermont, so there will be some hills but every uphill ride earns you a downhill coast on the other side. Trippers enjoy great roads for cycling, excellent campgrounds, cool nights for sleeping, quaint country stores, working farms and covered bridges.

Your group will ride on quiet, tree lined country lanes and on winding roads through green mountain valleys, past red barns and lush fi elds with inquisitive cows or horses (or llamas!) hanging over the fences, all leading you through pretty villages. Vermont's general stores are amazing, with everything from cheese to hats to candy to stamps for the postcards that you never remember to mail home. Simple summer pleasures of fun and friends await you in Vermont!

When we came to a town that was interesting, we’d take a longer lunch time, and explore. When we’d see a pretty spot we’d stop and take a group picture. When we’d see a good beach, we would swim. The trip was run by what we opted to do, and that’s what made it perfect. Many camps treat you like a little kid, trapped in what the adults want you to do, but the SHP people make it possible for you to choose, but still stay safe and within reason!

I wouldn’t trade this summer for anything, it was the best of my life! If I were to sum up my SHP trip, I would have to say that I learned the most in these two weeks then anytime else in my life.
